Born in Madrid in 1990, Víctor Santamarina lives and works in Rotterdam, where he completed his MFA at the Piet Zwart Institute in 2018. As part of his previous training, Santamarina participated in the residency program of RAMPA, in Madrid. In the face of alienation and increasing overstimulation, Víctor Santamarina’s work looks back at craftsmanship and time engaged processes as a reintegrating technique and a form of inherent resistance against contemporary pressures.
Santamarina’s work has been exhibited in a number of solo and group exhibitions, recently including Túnel at García Galería (2019) and Querer parecer noche at Centro de Arte 2 de Mayo (2018).
