Marta Pierobon imagines a waiting room as the abstract location for the site-specific installation in Fonderia Battaglia. Through this project she focuses once again on the dynamics related to ’identity' and to the “becoming”. The mental dimension that may arise during a wait, often gives us the possibility of an intimate awareness and the discovering of otherwise latent desires. The artist dwells on the meaning of time dilation that comes in the most diverse and sometimes improbable moments of life; but that ,at the same time, they necessarily belong to the everyday life of each of us. "Shoes, Tongues and Cigarettes” is a project about our most hidden and private identity that sometimes we can find only in the most unexpected moments of life. “My works confront with the time and space dimension, which is not only objective but that changes according to the capacity of comprehension of the viewer and according to the time that passes by the emission of the information to its reception.” Marta Pierobon
Marta Pierobon (Brescia,1979) vive e lavora a Milano. Si laurea in belle arti nel 2006 all’Accademia di Firenze. Ha lavorato come assistente di Urs Fisher e di Anna Galtarossa nel 2006/07,è stata co-fondatrice di Spazio Morris a Milano. Tra il 2007 e il 2017 il suo lavoro è stato esposto in svariati spazi di ricerca e istituzioni tra i quali: Edicola Radetzky (Milano) Duet Space (St. Louis, USA), LaTriennale di Milano (Milano), Espirit Nouveau di Bologna, Localedue (Bologna), Viafarini (Milano), Soloway ( New York), Welcome to New York ad Art in general (New York), Neon fdv ( Milano), Museo di Santa Giulia (Brescia); ed in svariate gallerie tra le quali: Kate Macgarry (Londra ), Marian Boesky (New York ), Plutschow Gallery (Zurigo), 78 Lyndhurst way (Londra) e A Palazzo Gallery (Brescia), dalla quale galleria e’ rappresentata dal 2010. Nel 2012 vince la prima edizione del premio Lombardia a Miart, nello stesso anno viene selezionata da Ilaria Bonaccossa per partecipare al Premio Cairo. Partecipa a diverse residenze tra cui: LMCC (New York) e CARS (Omegna). Il suo lavoro è stato recensito da varie testate tra cui: Flash art, Espoarte, Il Corriere della Sera e artecritica, art*text*pics*, Art Blog Art Blog e Fruit of the Forest. Il suo lavoro è attualmente rappresentato da A Palazzo Gallery (Brescia) e da Plutschow Gallery (Zurigo). |
